What Kind of Love?

Ah! Love! Don't you just love it? I have always been a sensitive gal, a romantic at heart. Most people don't know that about me until they have spent sometime with me.

I love old romantic classics, romantic movies period. I love watching actors do their thing on film! Passion, romance, compassion, humor... it so moving. Some of my favorite quotes from films are:

"I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you." – Dirty Dancing

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That’s what I hope to give you forever." – The Notebook

"Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable." – Wizard of Oz

"Don’t forget I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her." – Notting Hill

Lots of people say "Oh that kind of love only happens in the movies!"

I think, I know it happens in real life too.

I got to thinking about all the different ways there are to love and what I have experienced and wanted to share that with you today.

When I was a teenager I was INFATUATED with this boy. This is one kind of love. Infatuation is a fantasy and for me went away completely when I got to know him as a person. I didn't really like him after all.

PASSIONATE LOVE came much later in life. We have all experienced moments of love on fire, if you have not, I wish it for you.

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE came when I lay eyes on my nieces and nephew. My beautiful sister honored me by letting me name all three! They are the light of life and no matter what they do they are loved!

MOTHER'S LOVE comes from a relationship that made me feel safe and accepted. This love does not have to come only from a women.

FATHER'S LOVE is just as important as mothers love because this kind of love has guided me and supported me to take action and accomplish things in the world. And again it does not have to come from only a man.

DIVINE LOVE is remembering the Truth of who we are and seeing the goodness in all things and people.

ROMANTIC LOVE a sense of mutual passion, caring and respect for a partner.

SELF LOVE is love in which you accept yourself and treat yourself with respect. Self love is living authentically.

I'm sure there may be more kinds of love in the world...these are the ones I have experienced. What about you?

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! LOVE TO YOU ALL!

Makes me stop and think of all the wonderful ways that love can be shown and expressed. Friendship is a love that is shared between two or more people who touch and tickle each other's hearts. <3! Sofia!!

Your words are beautiful! What can I say about love, "Oh, love," I think it's the most beautiful and divine that a human being has, being as it links us in one way or another.
Love makes us happy, laugh, enjoy, feel, mourn, think and evolve… so many feelings that the list is very long. But, for me, the love that is more beautiful, pure and unique is the love of a mother, the love of a sister and brother. Love is Divine! We all want it and we all have it.
