Manifest Monday

Happy Manifest Monday.

This weekend I spent painting with my sweet husband Jeff, my mentor Shiloh Sophia, and about 150 other Facebook friends. We painted being in abundance, so its natural that today I am focused on manifesting my abundance.

Here is Jeff's painting called Lady Abundance. I love the symbols he chose to represent his abundance story. The Cardinal , a chalice of overflowing water, the dragonfly...the purple circles represent his possibilities and ideas, the pyramid honors the past, the mask represents his love for acting and the wing on her shoulder represents the future. Her eyes are closed because he stated he wanted her to focus on abundance through the third eye of wisdom.

What I have learned about abundance is that it is not a place to arrive it is truly a state of being. I get to choose abundance every day. In the morning when I wake up next to the man I love and who loves me back I feel abundant. When I look up at the sky in the middle of the day during any circumstance I remember that the world is an abundant place. When I hear my nieces singing or laughing my heart is fully abundant.

I know that there are hard times and that sometimes it's hard for us to feel abundant. During these times it is important to stop and clear my mind. I have moved to a point in my life that even through all of the rough patches there is room for experiencing life through the lens of abundance. Its a choice. I can choose.

During our painting session this weekend we were prompted to ask our Muse of Abundance for ten words and write a letter or poem. Here is what I came up with:

Prosperity Possibilities

I am taking FLIGHT into a new world of living my true nature of abundance. The world is and abundant world and I am BLOOMING. I dance with LOVE and JOY beaming from my heart. My soul shines in divine RADIANCE as I move towards new GROWTH. My HAPPINESS shows in all I do. The BEAUTY from within is my true WEALTH. I live in ACCEPTANCE of this new story of my abundance!

She came out looking like this. I am still not finished with her. I want to add more flowers into her hair and she is asking me for a symbol near to her ear. I love the colors that came out of the meditation. It has a very tropical feel to it. I kept thinking Hawaii, blue for water, her hair is a lei, bird for my future story of an abundant life and doing it all with Love, which is represented by the heart on her forehead.

What is your story of abundance and what will you be manifesting this Monday? Love and light to all.

Tutorial Thursday

Hi Friends. Yay it's Tutorial Thursday again at Hermana Sagrada and I wanted to share what I did for my art studio space. It was important for me to have an altar of items that are important to me and remind me of my connection to others. Most of the items on my altar have been things given to me with a few things that bring me joy. I have some pictures and videos to share with you all today.

So we had an old sofa table that was black. I wanted to use it as my altar but it needed to be white to match all the furniture in the studio.

It was a very hot morning but I managed to get the table spray painted without any issues and it dryed very fast.

Here is video number one to show you the table just before I began to paint it.

Here is the table after it was spray painted and added the slate pieces in. I used the back side of the slate because I thought it matched more the light feeling I was going for.

I love how it just pops right out of the dark flooring.

Here is the second video on what is going on my altar.

It is getting easier for me to open up and share with videos. At first I was very nervous but I am glad now that I am feeling good about all the love that is out in the world and that we can all be in community together around things that are important to each of us.

This is a picture of all of the final pieces put in place. There is my gorgeous butterfly red thread dress! I am going to put her in a shadow box to protect the material that is in such pristine condition.

Here are photos of some of the items that live on my altar. This picture is a picture of a tee-shirt I bought when I was 15 of Romeo and Juliette. I love the 1968 version with Olivia Hussey. I placed a picture of Jeff and I on our trip to Hawaii because he is my Romeo :)

This mermaid was hand made by one of the most talented artists I have met on my journey. Daisy Coba crafted this with her hands. It is a mermaid to remind me of beauty!

These little guys remind me of when I was a little kid. I loved watching all of the Little Rascals episodes. My favorite was Spanky especially when he was very young like 3 or 4 years old. When I grew up I collected the shows on tape so I could watch them over and over. I would love to get them in DVD or Blue Ray if they are available. They remind me that IMAGINATION is important to living.

My altar would not be complete without my Cleopatra. I have read every single book I could find on her life and influence. To me, she was all of the archetypes rolled into one. I made this mixed media piece at a workshop at Viva Bookstore where I now teach my own workshops. Love that irony.

One last video of a finishing touch to the altar. I love how the lights frame the new altar.

Thanks so much for reading and watching. If you have an altar or a tutorial to share I would love to read about it! Leave a link in the comments section. Live in joy ya'll!

Santos Luminosos

Santos Luminosos (Luminous Saints) Course Begins on August 30th

What do you wish for? What do you want more of in your life? It's time to illuminate your dreams.  Illuminate them by setting an intention. We will start this class by writing the "whys" of your special intention. Then we will take that positive energy and create una vela sagrada (sacred candle) using the words and images that resonate with you. Next you will paint a picture of your trusted guide and saint to help radiate the intention you hold in your heart. Claudia and I invite you on this exciting online creativity course where the group will work with the Sacred energy of ritual! Rituals are deeply grounded in our own Latin American background which has roots not only on the Old World religions but also in Native American culture. I promise you will love this!

You will be led to create two projects, as well as working in your Diario Sagrado (Sacred Journal) via writing and art prompts. This is a fun course on illuminating intentions with Veladorasyou will decorate your own votive candle to use in your daily life for intention, meditation, or prayer and you will also create your very own Santo –you will create a Folk Art style Santo on wood!

Both Veladoras and Santos, are objects of veneration that lie at the very heart of Latino cultural tradition and we want to share that with YOU!

Register here.

We aim to create community while we help one another unfurl our beautiful Alas/wings so that we may all soar as beautifully and as high as we know we can. We believe that ritual is one of the paths that can get us closer to the Divine.

This course will begin on August 30th and will be shared through our online Sancutario/Santuary on a wordpress blog. We will also meet within our online community: “Hermana Sagrada” where we hope everyone will stop by for some te con leche and comunidad ...sharing your thoughts, your art… and most of all your corazon (heart) in our loving community of Sisterhood.

Whimsical Wednesday

Finally we are all moved in! Yay for no more boxes and getting rid of the clutter. Although I would have much preferred to travel with my honey this summer Divine Order was in action. Besides I have a great new art studio that I have been organizing and infusing with love and light. This week I have spent a lot of time in there writing and planning in the mornings and late at night.

Soon I will be able to share the workshops I have lined up for the Fall and beginning of 2014. Anyone want to come to Italy? Mmmuuhahahaha (wriggling my hands). I hope some of you will join me online and in person! Today, I wanted to share a video of the studio and an amazing revelation I had last week.

I received a huge validation from my inner little girl. A couple of years ago my mother gave me a dress I wore when I was a child. She saved it for all these years. I kept it safe because I remember wearing it and feeling happy in it. My grandfather owned a dress factory and had the dress made for me. I wanted to honor the little girl that I had pushed away for so long so I proudly hung the dress up where my altar will live in the art studio. As I hung it up I became very emotional. I realized 2 important things. My strong symbol the butterfly was duplicated in different parts of the dress. The butterfly has such a significant meaning for me and is the icon of my Soulful Metamorphosis and Hermana Sagrada Sisterhood

I was surprised that it has been with me since I was a child. As I looked closer to the dress I noticed the red lines in it and immediately thought of the Red Thread of connection. In my Color of Woman Training, we learn to establish a sacred container for the community through coming together in circle. We honor this community by performing a Red Thread Ceremony in which we pass around a red thread that symbolically connects us to our intentions and each other. A powerful and moving practice it is. As I looked over the dress it became so clear to me that I am on the right path. I continue to recognize the synchronicity of seemingly disconnected people, places and things and my attitude and experiences are elevated.

SAP ALERT! MUSHINESS AHEAD! (you have been warned).

I made a video to share with you my humble art studio and my experience. I tend to get emotional during times like this and I get choked up and cry. Really I am mostly happy, happy, joy,  joy but it is in the moments like this that my truest most vulnerable self appears. My goal has been to live as authentic as possible even when I am scared or not at my best so I share with love and gratitude.
